Irritable Bowel Syndrome: IBS

Are you frustrated with your medical team and their lack of solutions?

Do you feel like a crazy pill popper from taking so many supplements?

Are you beginning to wonder if you'll ever be free of IBS?

You deserve to work with someone who knows IBS inside and out.

Hi, I'm Dr. DiNezza.

Over the last ten years, I have had the pleasure of helping hundreds of people defeat IBS and SIBO. When I'm not working with patients, I continue to produce videos for my IBS and SIBO channel on YouTube- be sure to subscribe for notifications about new videos. I have also had the privilege of being interviewed for the IBS and SIBO SOS Summit in 2018.

Below is a video from my "Causes of IBS Revealed" Series.

Oh, ps. It was my own struggle with IBS that motivated me to study functional medicine (well, that and my mom's autoimmunity). More about my story here.

But Don't Take It From Me!

Below are just a few reviews from former IBS-ers.

If they can heal their guts you can do it, too!

What are the symptoms of IBS?

Common symptoms of IBS include:

  • Diarrhea

  • Constipation

  • (Possibly both diarrhea and constipation)

  • Abdominal/stomach bloating

  • Abdominal/stomach pain

  • Abdominal cramping

  • Nausea

  • Indigestion

You may have all of these symptoms or only a few.

What are the causes of IBS?

Common causes of IBS include:

Usually, people have more than one thing from this list, as some of them cause the other (SIBO causing intestinal inflammation and leaky gut, for example).

Can a diet control IBS?

Yes, although I rarely recommend the most popular IBS diets. All of the following diets can be used to manage IBS symptoms, but should not be used for more than a couple of weeks.

Diets that can help IBS (and that I have worked with) include:

  • Low FODMAP diet

  • Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD)

  • The Bi-phasic Diet

  • Combination FODMAP/SCD (recommended by Allison Siebecker, ND)

Can IBS be helped naturally or cured?

Absolutely. IBS often responds very well to dietary changes, herbal medicine, supplements, vitamins, and life coaching. I feel very lucky to be able to help people with this condition every day at my office in Chapel Hill.
